Texas Longhorns head coach Steve Sarkisian is tired of lecturing you in the quarterback room. Not that he doesn’t like to talk about the first-world problems the Longhorns have under center this season, but whether backup quarterback Arch Manning, a redshirt freshman, will overtake starter Quinn Ewers, a redshirt junior , after the latter looked nervous upon his arrival back from an injury earlier this season.

“I’m not even going to answer that,” Sarkisian said during a league conference call earlier this week, according to On3. “I don’t know what the question is. Next question.”

“When I was a starter, I never wanted backup to come into the game, even for one play,” Sarkisian reportedly continued. “And I remember my senior year of college when I was banged up and the coaches wanted to run a quarterback draw. And they called the play and I scored a touchdown. So I have respect for a guy who is a starting quarterback and has the rhythm that you have to play with, so no, I’ve never considered anything like that before.”
