BUIES CREEK, N.C. – After an open schedule, Campbell returns to CAA to play another No. 0 ranked opponent nationally, No. 15 William & Mary. Kickoff is scheduled for 3:30 p.m. at Zable Stadium.

LAST TIME
North Carolina Central scored on three of its first four possessions and went on to beat Campbell 45-14. Four different Eagles scored touchdowns in the first half, building a 28-0 lead at halftime VJ Wilkins And Mike Chandler II scored touchdowns for the Camels in the second half.

Walker Harris completed 14 of 23 passes for 132 yards and two touchdowns, had a rushing score and faced seven different NCCU receivers. J’Mari Taylor also rushed for 89 yards and a TD, while Chris Mosley added 75 yards on the ground and another score.

Quantez Mansfield led the NCCU defense with six stops, including 3.5 tackles for loss and 2.5 sacks. Malcolm Reed and Tomondrey Braxton had interceptions for the Eagles.

Chandler rushed for 89 yards on four attempts for Campbell, including a 72-yard touchdown in the fourth quarter, and also completed two of five pass attempts for 11 yards. Chandler’s 72-yard TD run was Campbell’s longest rush since Daniel Smith’s 80-yard dash at Davidson in 2017.

Wilkins ran for 60 yards on three attempts, including a 55-yard touchdown JJ Cowan ran for 47 yards on 11 carries. Sincere Brown added 33 yards on four catches. Cornelius Davis collected a game-high nine tackles for the Camels Jalen Brooks posted seven stops, including a sack.

GUIDING THE CAMEL

Chad Mascoe, Jr. has thrown for 1,205 yards (200.8 per game) with seven touchdowns, completing 64.9 percent of his attempts while rushing for a score. Sincere Brown owns 524 yards receiving with five touchdowns while Mike Chandler II rushed for a team-high 204 yards and a touchdown on the ground.

Defensive, Jalen Brooks posted a team-high 48 tackles with 1.5 stops for loss, one interception and two fumble recoveries Jojo Pace recorded 42 tackles with two interceptions.

THE MATCHUP: WILLIAM & MARY
William & Mary, ranked No. 15 in this week’s Stats Perform FCS Top 25 poll, is 4-2 overall this season, including a 1-1 mark in CAA games following a 34-27 setback at Towson on March 5 .October.

Darius Wilson has thrown six TDs and rushed for four more, while Bronson Yoder is averaging 101.2 rushing yards per game with six total touchdowns. Alex Washington contributed 38 tackles on defense.

Saturday marks the third straight season and third all-time meeting between the Camels and the Tribe and second as CAA opponents. William & Mary, then ranked No. 4 in the country, won last year’s season opener at Buies Creek 34-24.

RARE AIR
Against Delaware State, Campbell wide receiver Sincere Brown threw for a career-high 133 yards and three touchdowns on five catches for the Camels while his fellow wideout VJ Wilkins collected seven catches for 115 yards in the win.

The duo became the second Camels pair ever to record 100 or more receiving yards in a single game (Julian Hill – 4 catches, 122 yards, 1 touchdown – and Ezeriah Anderson – 8 catches, 115 yards, 1 TD – at Bryant 11/5/22).
