Thanks to a hat trick from Harry Kane, FC Bayern ended their small crisis in results. These are the striker’s first goals in four competitive games.

FC Bayern Munich has ended the small crisis in results in the Südschlager. Thanks to a hat trick from the resurgent Harry Kane, coach Vincent Kompany’s team beat VfB Stuttgart 4-0.

Kane last beaten in the Bundesliga in September in the 5-0 win in Bremen, but he was unsuccessful in the three winless games against Leverkusen, Aston Villa and Frankfurt.

Although the hosts dominated the game in the first half, viable scoring chances remained the exception. While VfB remained completely harmless, the hosts with Kane and Serge Gnabry were at least somewhat dangerous in front of Alexander Nübel’s box.

This changed in the second half when both teams released the handbrake. First, Kane missed the lead when he narrowly missed a sharp cross from Gnabry. In the 57th minute the time had come: The Englishman took courage from 25 meters and hammered the ball into the bottom left corner, although Nübel didn’t look good.

Shortly before going behind, VfB had a great chance to take the lead when Josha Vagnoman hit the ball over Manuel Neuer’s goal from 14 meters.

Previous injury shock for Bayern

Kane immediately followed up: The Swabians were unable to get the ball out of the penalty area, so the Bayern striker shot the ball over the goal line for the second time from close range in the 60th minute. In the 80th minute, the Englishman completed his flawless hat trick when all he had to do was score from four meters.

Kingsley Coman marked the final score in the 89th minute.

The party for the record champions started with an injury shock. After just six minutes, young star Aleksandar Pavlovic had to be substituted for Palhinha after an aerial duel in which he fell on his right shoulder. Even with the Portuguese newcomer, Bayern’s defense was largely stable that day.

With 17 points, the Munich team is still at the top of the table, while VfB is now eight points behind and has to make small progress first.
