Game 3 between the New York Yankees and the Cleveland Guardians was action-packed as the Yankees were one shot away from a commanding 3-0 lead in the ALCS, but the Jhonkensy Noel had other plans. The rookie hit a 2-run home run in the bottom of the 9th to tie the game at 5, and then David Fry hit a 2-run home run in the bottom of the 10th to win the game for the Guardians a final score of 7:5. The Guardians will have to be happy with Thursday night’s game and will look to tie this series at 2-2, which brings us to our Yankees vs. Guardians prediction.

It’ll be hard to match the drama of Game 3, but Game 4 will definitely be exciting to watch as both teams will field starters who haven’t yet started this postseason. The Yankees start Luis Gil, who was 15-7 this season with a 3.50 ERA. Cleveland counters with Gavin Williams, who is 3-10 with a 4.86 ERA this season. Williams struggled against the Yankees in August, giving up three earned runs in 4.1 innings. The same goes for Gil, who allowed three earned runs in 3.0 innings pitched. New York will be nauseous after Thursday’s loss, but they have to feel good about Aaron Judge and the way he has swung his bat in the last two games. It’s hard to predict how these two starters will perform over the course of the game, but looking at how they’ve performed all season, I trust Gil a lot more than Williams. Not to mention, the Guardians’ bullpen has been taxed in the last three games and the Yankees have had the better lineup all season. Expect New York to return the favor after Thursday night’s loss, which is why my best bet is for the visitors to be on the money line.
