“‘It was huge’: Rachin Ravindra’s honest remark on Virat Kohli’s wicket |” Cricket News

According to New Zealand batsman Rachin Ravindra, Virat Kohli’s wicket, which came on the third day of the Bengaluru Test, was very crucial. The former India captain scored a golden duck in the first innings of the first Test match against New Zealand, played at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru. But the 35-year-old batsman made a brilliant comeback as he scored 70 runs in the second innings and was also part of a 136-run partnership with Sarfaraz Khan.

It was Glenn Phillips who dismissed Kohli. The Indian team is still 125 runs behind and Ravindra felt the Kiwis were still in charge.

“It was huge and Virat is a great player and we still have runs on the board. We know things happen in this part of the world,” Ravindra told broadcasters after the day’s performance.

Earlier, India’s star batsman Virat Kohli reached 9,000 Test runs after crossing the 53-run mark in the second innings of the first Test on the third day. It was a memorable game for Ravindra as he became the first New Zealand batsman in 12 years to score a century in Test cricket on Indian soil.

“I think I’ve just been trying to build partnerships and partnering with Timmy (Tim Southee) has really helped me. It’s a really good wicket out there. Yes, it is reassuring although the wicket is different and it is nice to play on this ground,” Ravindra added.

“It’s great (having my father and family there) and I always appreciate the support of the audience in Bangalore.”
