Taylor Swift song used by Trump campaign in ad targeting women

“I HATE TAYLOR SWIFT!” Donald Trump wrote on social media last month after the 14-time Grammy-winning pop star endorsed Kamala Harris.

So it’s strange that this week he’s using one of Swift’s songs in a campaign video intended to appeal to women.

A clip with the caption “Women for Trump” was recently posted to the GOP candidate’s official Instagram account. It features Lara Trump and a bevy of pink-clad MAGA-supporting women – including Savannah Chrisley and Sage Steele – singing along to lines from Swift’s 2013 tune “22” before the soundtrack abruptly cuts to the Trump’s “Trump Trump Baby.” -Acolyte Forgiato Blow jumps. ”

It’s a bizarre mix, especially given the candidate’s oft-stated dislike of it Tortured Poets Department Singer-songwriter.

Of course, there is a long list of songs by anti-Trump artists whose work the former president used during his campaign. Many of these artists have asked him to stop.

Among the former president’s more unusual choices was his de facto campaign anthem “YMCA” – particularly given his frequent attacks on LGBTQ+ people and his anti-gay policies.
