Bronny James’ NBA career has always been compared to that of his father, LeBron. When he was selected by the Lakers in the second round after just one college season, it became clear that LeBron simply wanted to play professionally with his son.

Still, Bronny’s rookie season didn’t get off to the best start. Even in the preseason, he struggled to adjust to the NBA and his presence wasn’t felt in the box score. Bronny will likely spend much of the season in the G-League, but he still has two preseason games in Los Angeles before the regular season begins.

The Lakers will face the Suns for the second time this preseason. Los Angeles lost the first meeting at home 118:114. In that game, Bronny played 13 minutes and missed the only shot he made, a three-pointer. Bronny had two rebounds, four turnovers and three fouls.

The opener between the Lakers and Suns is scheduled for Thursday, October 17th at 10 p.m. ET. The game will be broadcast on TNT.
