‘Creepy’ moment: Trump calls a female senator “fantastically attractive” while trying to woo female voters at Fox town hall

Donald Trump has been branded “creepy” for calling a female senator “young” and “fantastically attractive” in a bizarre moment as he tried to woo female voters at a Fox News town hall.

During the event in Cumming, Georgia, hosted by Harris Faulkner and recorded on Tuesday, Trump was asked a question by a pro-life mother of three who said she was concerned that abortion bans would affect access to IVF treatments .

After declaring he was “the father of IVF,” which Faulkner didn’t question, Trump then shared an anecdote about a phone call he had with Alabama Republican Sen. Katie Britt.

“So I got a call from Katie Britt, a young, just incredibly attractive person from Alabama,” Trump said.

“She’s a senator. And she called me “emergency, emergency” because a judge in Alabama had ruled that the IVF clinics were illegal and needed to be closed – a judge ruled.

“And she said, ‘Friends of mine came up to me and they were, oh, they were so angry.’ I didn’t even know they were leaving.’ You know, they were, it was fertilization.”

Trump continued: “I didn’t know they were even involved, nobody talks about it, they don’t talk about it.” But now that they can’t, she said, “I was attacked.” In a way, I was attacked .”

The Republican candidate then admitted that he asked Britt to “explain IVF” to him: “And I said, ‘Explain IVF real quick.’ And within about two minutes I got it. I said, ‘No, no, we’re all for IVF.'”

Britt did not respond to the former president’s reference to her physical appearance, but yesterday endorsed Trump for his “unwavering” support.

“From the beginning, President Trump has been a strong and steadfast supporter of IVF, which is deeply family-friendly,” she said on -Access.”

A clip of Trump’s remarks – billed as an event for women voters to ask Trump questions about issues that matter most to them – circulated on social media, with commenters branding him “misogynistic” and “creepy.”

“Trump gets all creepy at Fox News town hall,” one person wrote on X.

“Misogyny on full display,” said another.

“The way he talks about women is beyond disgusting,” someone else chimed in. “No one cared that Katie was ‘beautiful’ except him. It doesn’t matter. All women are important. All women are beautiful, but that doesn’t mean it defines them.”

Trump’s claim that he was “the father of IVF” also sparked backlash, with Kamala Harris calling it “pretty bizarre.”

She added: “If by that he meant taking responsibility, then yes, then he should take responsibility for ensuring that one in three women in America live in a state where Trump’s abortion ban is in effect.”

Abortion and IVF have become key issues in this election.

While Trump claims to support fertility treatment, Democrats warn of an overthrow Roe v. Wade and rolling back abortion rights could pave the way for Republicans to target access to IVF next.

In February, the Alabama Supreme Court ruled that frozen embryos had the same rights as children, forcing some IVF clinics in the state to suspend treatment.

As a result, Alabama lawmakers passed a law to protect clinics from prosecution and IVF services were able to resume.

In Georgia, Republicans have said they support IVF but have also rejected demands from Democrats in the state who have called for more protections in accessing the treatment.
