Nick from Love Is Blind Season 7 criticizes Hannah’s “wrong” opinion of him

Warning: This article contains spoilers from Love is blind Season 7, Episodes 1-11.

Breakups suck, but Nick Dorka was really tested when Hannah Jiles ended their relationship Love is blind.

Instead of trying on wedding dresses and tuxedos, Hannah told Nick that they needed to have a serious conversation and ended up calling off their engagement before they could get to the finale. In her brutally direct way, Hannah said that Nick wasn’t a good fit for her intellectually, creatively, financially, or in any other way. She went through her list of his five mistakes that she had written down in Mexico and told him that he hadn’t worked on or fixed any of them. She also said she felt like she didn’t know the “real” man and was being manipulated. But now, after seeing their breakup and all of her comments about him in episode 11, Nick calls her opinion “completely wrong.”

“I’m just as intellectual as she is,” he says Weekly entertainment. “I’m not the type of person to say, ‘I’m better than you at this, this and that.’ “Obviously I felt like I wasn’t an equal in the relationship and throughout the show I was understanding, respectful, mature, sincere and financially savvy.”

Nick points out that his career in real estate requires him to be financially literate. “I look at contracts and numbers, help my customers and support them at a high level,” he says. “I graduated from William & Mary with two great degrees – one of the best schools in the country. I didn’t agree with the things she said, but at that point I realized there was nothing I could really do to save the relationship.”

One of the main points Hannah kept coming back to was how disrespectful Nick was towards her, and he now calls that “ironic” considering how she treated him during their engagement.

“My parents raised me right,” he says. “I was always told to treat people, especially women, with respect. The duck thing wasn’t really that deep, I was just having fun with it, but she found it disrespectful. I had a conversation with Katie at the Halloween party, and it was very mature and respectful, but she found it disrespectful, maybe she had some issues or insecurities, we all do, but some issues that she had with herself and her had to address friends and which were increasingly (projected). on me.”

Nick continues: “I was a genuine, sincere guy the whole time. I’m very respectful.’ Some people looked a little “delulu” sometimes, but not me.”

He talks about being “disrespectful” and also points out that Hannah had a conversation with season seven cast member Ashley Adionser about her sex life – in great detail – even though he asked for it Keep the topic secret. “I would never say that on camera, and I think it just shows that we’re different in a lot of ways,” he says. “Friends should be there to talk to about these things, but there are certain details in a relationship, especially sexual ones, that I would never really openly discuss. I wouldn’t stand on camera and talk to Garrett or Ty about something like that and bash them like that.

Nick adds: “I don’t think a lot of it was necessarily true. I think I’m a great partner, but that was her side of the story.”

Hannah’s decision to end her engagement before the recent weddings came as no surprise to Nick. “It was a little unfortunate that we couldn’t go through with it, but we were mature enough to end it immediately and not drag it out anymore,” he says. “As you can see on the show, Hannah is a very strong, independent woman, she likes to speak her mind and it is hard to influence her opinion. So when she called me, I knew the conversation wasn’t going to be a good one and we’d probably be done. At that moment, I knew that once she made up her mind, she probably wouldn’t change her mind.

In the episode following their breakup, Nick mentions that he would have liked to have made it to the end of the experiment. But would he have said “yes” at the altar?

“I took it day by day, moment by moment,” he says. “I don’t want to speak for Hannah, but I feel like she was maybe a little further along in the process. It was clear that we had a connection and had some important events coming up, and I wanted to see if we could just work on the things we needed to work on. We were both really invested in the relationship. and I wanted to try to get to the point where she was and take advantage of every moment with her. Unfortunately it didn’t work out, but in hindsight it might have been for the best.”

He also doesn’t believe the timing of their breakup was a coincidence, as it happened the very next day after his disastrous meeting with her friends.

“Hannah told me, ‘I’m very independent. I don’t care what my friends or family think. I’m going to do exactly what I want to do,'” says Nick. “But then she broke up with me because her friends told her and she listened to them. And then this is another case where she let her friends’ opinions influence her, so I was a little confused. Some of them.” The things she said were a little different from what she did.

What was “pretty consistent,” however, was the way Hannah spoke to Nick. That’s why he wasn’t surprised to see everything she said about him in all the episodes.

“I just wish she could have given me a little more grace in certain situations, a little more understanding,” he says. “I try to be as patient as possible. In this situation it is difficult to see exactly where it is coming from. I just wanted it to work, but unfortunately it didn’t.”

Regardless of how the season ended for him, Nick has “no regrets at all” about moving on Love is blind. “It’s about finding love, but you do a lot of searching for yourself and also really developing as a person,” he says. “I found some things I never really knew. I wouldn’t change anything – I think everything turned out the way it should.”

The Love is blind The Season 7 finale will be released on Netflix on Wednesday, October 23rd.
