TI and Tiny’s son King Harris were arrested on a warrant after he was found with a gun

It’s been a hell of a year for King Harris.

Since last year, the 20-year-old has been in the headlines more often for serious incidents, such as the explosive and physical altercation he had with his parents TI and Tameka “Tiny” Harris at a Falcons game.

Earlier this month, his parents threw him a baby shower to celebrate becoming a father for the first time. Now King is back in the headlines after being arrested for failing to appear in court.

WSB-TV reported that King, born Clifford “King” Joseph Harris III, was driving a BMW out of a gas station on Monday but nearly hit an officer’s vehicle, prompting the officer to pull him over.

While speaking with King, the officer not only smelled marijuana, but also noticed a gun on his hip. While reviewing his information, the officer noticed that King had a warrant out for his arrest in Pickens County for failure to appear in court for previous traffic violations, the report said.

“I told Mr. Harris that I needed to speak to him outside and opened the driver’s side door,” police quoted the police report as saying. “Mr. Harris was cooperative and I removed the gun from his hip without issue. I then had Mr. Harris exit the vehicle and restrained him by placing handcuffs on him. I escorted Mr. Harris to my patrol car, patted him down and placed him in the back of my vehicle.”

Two other people who were in the vehicle with King were charged with possession of less than an ounce of marijuana while he was being taken to the DeKalb County Jail.

His arrest warrant stems from an incident in August 2022 in which he was charged with speeding, knowingly operating a motor vehicle with a revoked license and driving under the influence of drugs.

According to Fox 5, the arraignment was returned in September 2024, which typically means the defendant was not notified of the scheduled arraignment and an arrest warrant was issued. The day after his arrest, he was released to Pickens County and the warrant was revoked, local reports explain.

Fans reacted with disappointment at King’s behavior in Hollywood Unlocked’s comments section about the incident. One person said: “He really wants to be a criminal… Smh.”

Someone else said, “That’s the kind of life he wants!! His dad is constantly trying to teach him and he constantly wants to play the ghetto hood ninja!”

A third person suggested that King’s father was unlikely to intervene to help King. She said, “Tip, let her sit in there too.”

This may be true, based on TI’s response when King was arrested in 2022 for a minor traffic violation for not wearing a seatbelt.

The “Bring Em Out” rapper said on Instagram Live at the time: “If he keeps this up, he’s going to jail. “There’s no way around it, there’s nothing I can do about it,” he said. “Because I know this energy. I was that energy. I know exactly how it will turn out.”

TI also said that he tried to discipline his son while raising him, but now it’s up to King. “He took all the beating and punishment,” TI said. “I did everything I could do with him as a child. So now you have to go through it and get through it, and neither me nor my mom nor anyone else will be able to say anything.”

The “King of the South” even reprimanded King in a viral video that surfaced last month of the young rapper brandishing a gun during a music video shoot with Boosie’s son, rapper Tootie Raww.

King defended himself by saying it wasn’t illegal to own a gun, to which his father said, “Well, the way you portray that lifestyle doesn’t look legitimate, sir.”

TI had his own dealings with the lawsuit, including being arrested on drug and weapons convictions and even serving a prison sentence. So it’s no surprise that he tries to get his son to make better decisions than he did at that age.

“It’s not free. There’s no price to it,” he continued. “I can’t believe this, man. …Why don’t y’all make motherf-king love music? You’re going to have girls out here. Why don’t you talk about being in love, man?”

After news of his arrest hit social media, King began posting subliminal messages on his Instagram Story, including a video clip that read, “Trying to explain to my girlfriend why I didn’t come last night.” He also shared a photo of himself with heavy eyes and added his single “Locked In” under his stage name Kid Saiyan.

TI and Tiny have not yet responded to their son’s recent arrest.
