Kelly Clarkson doesn’t just agree with Jelly Roll’s hit “I Am Not Okay” – she loves it.

The chart-topping songbird, 42, teamed up with Jelly Roll, 39, for a duet during the “Kellyoke” segment The Kelly Clarkson Show. Fans got a glimpse of the magic Todaywhich created excitement for the full performance, which is scheduled to air on Wednesday, October 16th.

“This song is so good. “I’m so excited that he’s allowing me to sing on his song ‘I Am Not Okay’ and it’s so, so good,” Clarkson gushed during a behind-the-scenes look at the singing pair together at sound check. “I’m just a big fan. I love authenticity and I love real messages. I think real shit is really important.”

But it wasn’t just the “Because of You” singer who was thrilled – Jelly Roll himself was equally impressed by the stars. Before Clarkson took the stage, the reigning CMA New Artist of the Year said: “I’m excited and as soon as she walks in I get nervous. It will go from pure excitement to nervousness.” “

Jelly Roll further explained that the two met for the first time at the Grammy Awards, where he couldn’t hide his awe. “I went and beat her up and I thought, Mrs. Clarkson, I’m such a fan, and when she turned around and said, ‘Hey Jelly,’ I thought she knew me!” he exclaimed.

This isn’t Clarkson’s first rodeo covering Jelly Roll’s music.
