6 First Alert Weather Day: Widespread frost on Wednesday morning

OMAHA, Neb. (WOWT) – Tuesday was a cool day all around…highs in the 50s after a start in the 30s. With clear skies and light winds, we expect a sharp drop in temperatures overnight and a widespread frost on Wednesday morning. We made it the 6th weather warning day:

The chance of frost increases as temperatures will likely start in the low 30s Wednesday morning.

The growing season will be over by this time and some areas may experience severe frost.

Frost warnings are in effect for almost the entire viewing area, with the exception of the northwest corner, where frost already occurred on Monday morning.

Later Wednesday we will get southerly winds that will help us get back into the 60s! We will remain stormy for the rest of the work week.

A high fire danger will be a concern with red flag warnings in effect west of the metro on Wednesday and a fire weather to watch for most of eastern Nebraska and western Iowa on Thursday.

Highs will climb back into the 70s by Thursday, with overnight temperatures in the 50s.

There’s a chance of a few showers on Saturday, but that chance seems slim… There’s a chance again as we start the work week.
