Fire danger will be higher in parts of Colorado on Wednesday and Thursday

It’s a nice but chilly start to the day as temperatures dip into the 30s for the Wednesday morning commute.

We will quickly move into the low 70s by lunch, with highs near 80 by 4 p.m. Fire danger will increase across eastern Colorado due to warm, above-average temperatures, strong southwest winds and low humidity levels.

There will be plenty of sunshine on Wednesday morning, but clouds will increase in the afternoon. Finally it looks like we’ll see some much needed moisture at the end of the week!

The mountains will also see some rain and snow showers Wednesday afternoon. There is a slight chance of an isolated shower rolling east across the plains.

A winter-like storm will move across Colorado Friday and into the weekend. So far it looks like there will be a decent amount of snow in the mountains, with precipitation expected for the Denver metro.

The closer the storm gets, the better we can assess the exact timing, trajectory and total rainfall.

There will be significantly cooler temperatures through the end of the week and this weekend. With mostly cloudy skies, look for highs in the 50s and 60s.

It’s been a while since it rained in Denver. Rainfall will occur on Friday for the first time since September 22nd. The Front Range is parched and we desperately need water!

This storm will move out of the metropolitan area on Sunday. We will see partly cloudy skies and highs in the 60s Sunday afternoon. Warmer weather returns early next week.
