Tell Me Lies fans were shocked after seeing the “brutal plot twist” in the season 2 finale.

The series – first released on Hulu in September 2022 – follows the toxic relationship between newbie Lucy (played by Grace) and Stephen (Jackson).

Based on Lovering’s 2018 novel of the same name, the couple quickly fall into an addictive, chaotic but loving partnership during their first degree, which then unfolds over eight years.

And the second season came to a crashing end on Wednesday – both in 2008 and in 2015.

Stephen (Jackson White) and Diana (Alicia Crowder) have broken up – something she had planned all along but made Stephen believe it was his idea.

Stephen immediately slept with Lucy (Grace Van Patten) and right after that Lucy went back to Leo (Thomas Doherty) and slept with him.

Stephen and Lucy later got back together and Evan (Branden Cook) decided to tell him that Lucy was the one he slept with last year.

Evil Stephan then took in Evan without him knowing, saying he cheated on Bree with Lucy.

Flashback to 2015 – It’s Bree and Evans’ wedding day and they are surrounded by their loved ones.

Still up to his old tricks, Stephen cheats on Lydia with Lucy, then sends Bree the voice note he made all those years ago.

In the final moments of the episode, Bree is seen just before walking down the aisle, listening to Evan’s confession, while her bridesmaid Lucy stands obliviously next to her.

Fans couldn’t believe how the series ended and claimed that they “needed therapy” after seeing how the series unfolded.
