Colbert channels his inner Biden — complete with sunglasses — to mock Trump for the town hall dance recital

Late-night TV host Stephen Colbert poked fun at Donald Trump’s recent dance-filled town hall – as the comedian donned aviator sunglasses and mimicked Joe Biden’s reaction to the strange event.

Colbert, host of “The Late Show with Stephen Colbert,” made a series of jokes about Trump’s Monday town hall on Tuesday night. where he danced for more than 30 minutes after two contestants suffered a medical emergency.

Trump asked his staff to play “Ave Maria” after the first participant appeared to faint. A second person appeared to collapse shortly afterwards. As the second person received help, Trump asked his staff to play “Ave Maria” again.

“Come on, come on,” Colbert remarked while poking fun at the event. “At least turn up your sad music.”

After greeting the audience, Trump concluded the question portion of the event.

“Let’s not ask any more questions,” Trump said at the event. “Let’s just listen to music.”

The former president then played his favorite hits, including “YMCA” and “It’s A Man’s Man’s Man’s World,” for about half an hour.

Colbert mocked the former president for crashing the event, insisting he only answered a handful of questions. He also performed his own interpretation of Trump’s iconic fist dance moves.

“Up to that point, Trump had only answered a total of five questions,” Colbert added. “He had 40 minutes left in his town hall and decided to fill it that way.”

After a few more thoughts on Trump’s music choices, Colbert then did his best imitation of Biden, complete with the president’s iconic Ray-Ban aviator sunglasses.

“You kicked me out because I was too old and crazy, this guy plays the dayroom shuffle to ‘November Rain,'” Colbert said, summoning his inner Biden.

As Colbert concluded his opening monologue, he made a joke about the musical “Cats,” referencing Trump’s repeated false claims that Haitian immigrants in Springfield, Ohio, eat pets.

“Trump ended the event by shaking his hand to another popular song, ‘Memory,’ which is, of course, from his favorite musical, ‘They’re Eating the Cats.’
