The Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show returns Tuesday night in New York City after a five-year hiatus.

The annual runway show, which debuted in 1995, was canceled in 2019 amid a series of scandals and backlash from critics who accused the lingerie brand of a lack of diversity and inclusivity.

Edward Razek, former chief marketing officer of Victoria’s Secret’s former parent company L Brands, who resigned in 2019, sparked controversy in a Vogue interview when he dismissed ideas about incorporating inclusivity into the runway spectacle “because the show is a fantasy.” .

He was later accused of harassment and perpetuating a “culture of misogyny, bullying and harassment” at the company.

In May, Victoria’s Secret announced that the fashion show would return and “will reflect who we are today.”

“We’ve been reading the comments and listening to you,” the brand said, adding that this year’s show will include “glamour, runway, wings, musical entertainment and more!”

Cher is headlining the 2024 Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show.

“It’s a woman’s world, so it goes without saying that there can’t be a fashion show without the mother of fashion herself – @Cher!” the brand wrote on Instagram in September. “We are thrilled to announce that she will be officially appearing at the 2024 Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show on October 15.”

K-pop star Lisa and singer Tyla will also be performing at this year’s show.

“Growing up, I was fascinated by the Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show – the stunning outfits, iconic wings and charismatic models,” Tyla, 22, said in a statement last month.
