The Sixers’ Paul George gives his own update on the injuries he suffered against the Hawks

The Philadelphia 76ers were coming off a 104-89 preseason win over the Atlanta Hawks on Monday night, but the focus was on Paul George, who left the game at halftime after just 12 minutes. The Sixers eventually announced that he would miss the second half due to left knee hyperextension.

Before his injury, George looked solid. He had eight points, ran jumpers easily and found ways to get a basket in isolation. He continues to be exactly what the Sixers are looking for on the field.

With the Sixers still having two preseason games left, it’s safe to assume George probably won’t play in either game out of precautionary reasons. Philadelphia wants to be sure he’s ready when the games matter most, but George gave reporters an encouraging update on the injury.

The Sixers face the Brooklyn Nets at home on Wednesday before finishing the preseason on the road against the Orlando Magic on Friday. One has to hope that George will be ready for the regular season opener on October 23rd at home against the Milwaukee Bucks.
