Cuba versus Trinidad and Tobago

Santiago de Cuba, October 11 (PL) The Leones del Caribe kept their hopes of staying in the A Series of the CONCACAF Nations League alive by signing their third consecutive draw.

The duel took place at the Antonio Maceo International Stadium in Santiago de Cuba against Trinidad and Tobago. The technical director of the Cuban team, Yunielys Castillo, told the press that they were never able to field the squad they wanted this year, so they had to work with the young players.

Castillo explained that he chose the offensive game because this is the characteristic of the most important players he has, emphasizing the strategy of adapting the approach to the game situations.

Responding to a forecast for the fourth matchday, to be played on the 14th in Trinidad and Tobago, Castillo considered it a difficult game, “given the fact that Rey Angel and Karel Espino are missing due to the accumulation of yellow cards,” he explained .

One of the day’s goal scorers, Maykel Reyes, explained that the key to their result was to keep trying until the goal was scored. He admitted that they had expected a difficult game here and that the goal in Trinidad and Tobago was the same: to aim for victory and stay in the A Series.

Minutes earlier, the Cuban national football team’s most offensive game until the third matchday of the CONCACAF Nations League had come to an end, in which Maykel Reyes scored in the 64th minute and Elvis Casanova in the 75th minute.
