Indiana was ranked No. 17 in the Associated Press Preseason Top 25 Poll – Inside the Hall

After a disappointing 2023-24 season, Indiana is back in the Associated Press Top 25 poll entering the 2024-25 season.

The Hoosiers are ranked No. 17 in the preseason AP Top 25 poll released Monday.

Indiana was ranked No. 13 in the preseason AP Top 25 poll for the 2022-23 season. It is the first time Indiana has been ranked in the AP poll since the final week of the 2022-23 season. The Hoosiers were ranked for 16 weeks this season, peaking at No. 10.

The rankings continue the trend of significant preseason expectations for the program. In this year’s “official unofficial” media poll, Indiana was ranked second in the Big Ten.

The Hoosiers are ranked No. 14 by the Blue Ribbon College Basketball Yearbook, No. 15 by Lindy’s Sports, No. 30 by BartTorvik.com and No. 39 by KenPom.com.

Other Big Ten teams ranked in the preseason AP Top 25 poll include Purdue at No. 14, UCLA at No. 22 and Rutgers at No. 25.

Illinois, Michigan State, Ohio State, Michigan, Oregon, Wisconsin and Maryland all received votes.

Indiana plays its first exhibition Sunday, Oct. 27, in Tennessee.

The Hoosiers open the regular season on Wednesday, November 6th at Assembly Hall against SIU-Edwardsville.
