Moore Fairview Elementary students were evacuated after suspicious devices were reported nearby. However, police later confirmed there was no threat to the school.

MOORE, Okla. –

Students at Moore Fairview Elementary School in Moore were evacuated to another campus Monday after some suspicious devices were found near the school.

According to the police, a call was received around 1 p.m. that noises could be heard from some containers. Out of an abundance of caution, administrators decided to bus students to Moore West Junior High.

When investigators arrived, they discovered the containers were Y. Gary Knight of the Oklahoma City Police Department said that was the case no threat to school.

The following message was sent to parents.

“Dear Fairview families,

Recently, unknown devices were found outside on the Fairview campus. Oklahoma City Police are investigating the crime scene and an ongoing investigation is ongoing.

Students and staff are safe and out of an abundance of caution, all students will be transported by bus to Moore West Junior High. Students were evacuated with whatever items they had with them, so hikers and drivers may not have their backpacks, house keys and other necessities.

Fairview Parents/Guardians are not to go to the Fairview campus.

DO NOT COME TO MWJH UNTIL after 2:30 p.m. due to middle school dismissal.

Fairview students may be checked out by a parent/guardian by entering the MWJH gym behind the back of the school.

Fairview bus passengers will be picked up at MWJH at the regular time for their regular routes.
