Bill’s RB status for the Jets game is up in the air

James Cook, the Buffalo Bills’ most productive offensive player to date not named Josh Allen, may not be able to play in the battle for first place in the AFC East against the New York Jets on Monday night.

Will James Cook play against the Jets?

Coach Sean McDermott said Saturday before the Bills’ final practice of the week that Cook is listed as questionable for the game as he tries to battle a foot/toe injury. He only took part in limited training on Saturday.

Cook finished last week’s game in Houston but suffered the injury late when he landed awkwardly after a tackle and has not practiced this week. Cook ranks 15th in the league in both rushing yards (309) and yards gained from scrimmage (432) and has five total touchdowns.

Seventh year veteran Ty Johnsonwho has been a productive backup throughout his career, will likely start if Cook is unable to play. He has two of Buffalo’s 16 offensive touchdowns this year.
