The Bruins have won two straight games since losing their season opener to the Panthers six days ago in Sunrise, Florida. But that doesn’t mean they aren’t happy with the result.

After losing to Florida in six games in the second round of the Stanley Cup playoffs last spring, the Bruins began with a frustrating 6-4 loss to the defending champions. They followed with a 6-4 victory over the Canadiens and a 2-1 overtime victory over the Kings, scored by a game-winning goal from David Pastrnak.

There are some reasons to believe that Monday’s second leg could be different. Jeremy Swayman, in the final eight-year, $66 million extension, didn’t play in the opening game, leaving Joonas Korpisalo floundering in his Bruins debut.

The Panthers, who have suffered two straight losses since beating Boston, will be without center Aleksander Barkov (lower body), right winger Justin Sourdif (unknown) and left winger Tomas Nosek (upper body). Matthew Tkachuk missed Saturday’s loss to Buffalo and is expected to miss a week with illness.

“I think there’s a bit of a rivalry and it continues to grow,” Florida forward Evan Rodrigues said after last week’s meeting. “They play hard. They are well trained. They are structured. You are playing the game correctly. I think there are two teams competing against each other.”
