According to the NHC, the well-defined low pressure area is producing some disorganized showers and thunderstorms as it moves over an area that is currently not conducive to development.

However, that could change in the coming days.

“The system is forecast to move generally westward toward warmer waters, and environmental conditions may become more favorable for gradual development by mid to late this week,” the NHC said.

The NHC says a tropical depression could form as the system begins to move west-northwest and approaches or approaches the Leeward Islands later this week.

So if you’re planning on traveling to popular warm-weather destinations like Puerto Rico or the U.S. Virgin Islands, you’ll want to keep an eye on the weather forecast.

According to the NHC, the chance of the system developing in the next two days is low and the chance of it developing in the next week is moderate.
