Showers and cool temperatures will dominate Metro Detroit this weekend

Rain showers and a few thunderstorms will affect metro Detroit Saturday evening and overnight. Thunderstorms can produce heavy rain and wind gusts of up to 40 mph as they move east at 40 mph.

If the sky is cloudy, showers are possible overnight. Low temperatures will be around 50 degrees in Monroe and Grosse Ile, in the upper 40s in Detroit, Dearborn and Livonia and in the mid 40s in West Bloomfield, Troy, Macomb Township, Clinton Township and Port Huron. Non-thunderstorm winds will be east-northeast at speeds of 8 to 12 mph with gusts up to 20 mph.

Sunday

There will be a few more showers on Sunday morning, but showers and thunderstorms are more likely in the afternoon and evening. When seasonal weather returns, highs in Adrian, Monroe and Flat Rock will be around 60 degrees, while temperatures in Ypsilanti, Canton, Farmington Hills, Detroit, Shelby Township and Lapeer will be in the mid to upper 50s. Northeast winds will be 5 to 10 miles per hour.

On Sunday night it will be mostly cloudy with showers. Lows will range from 40 to 45 degrees, with temperatures warmer in downtown Detroit and cooler near Ann Arbor, Howell, Pontiac and Metamora.

Monday

Be prepared for a chance of showers on Monday, especially during the morning commute. Dress for cooler air moving into southeast Michigan. Highs will only be in the lower mid 50s, which is typical for late October and early November. Lows will fall into the 30s. There will be patchy frost in some areas.
