Hot sunshine this afternoon with persistent dry conditions

KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (WVLT) – The welcome sunshine is back Sunday afternoon, as is the heat with some humidity. Afternoon highs in the 70s will be with us next week.

WHAT YOU CAN EXPECT

The sun returns Sunday afternoon, as does the dew point in the mid-60s. This will make our 83 feel a little warmer at 86. So we’ll stay almost 10 degrees above average on Sunday afternoon. The sun will set at 7:12pm this evening and it should be a beautiful evening. For those of you who need a break from the cleanup, just take a break up into the sky and enjoy the clear blue skies.

We remain above average well into Monday morning. The sky is clear and temperatures are around 60°C. The average low for this time is 53°C. Sunrise on Monday will be at 7:36 a.m

The look forward

The weather will be completely different next week. We are cooler and keep the sunshine.

Monday afternoon we will reach highs between 75 and 78 with a light north wind at 5 mph. The afternoon will be very pleasant. Sunsets are at 7:10 a.m. and early evening falls in the mid 60s.

Over a longer period of time, the most important thing is sunshine and below-average temperatures. Temperatures will remain in the low 70s and we are looking at even 40 degrees by mid-week.
