Jerry Jones makes a declarative statement about Mike McCarthy’s job after the loss to the Lions

The Dallas Cowboys’ struggles were clear to see on Sunday when they were beaten 47-9 by the Detroit Lions on their home field.

Jerry Jones was in attendance at the game, sitting in his usual suite at AT&T Stadium as he celebrated his 82nd birthday. There wasn’t much to celebrate as the team finished with 38 points.

After the game, Jones was asked by reporters about the loss and whether he was considering a coaching change. He responded bluntly as he explained that there were no changes along the way.

“I don’t think about it,” Jones said of Jon Machota The athlete.

Jones doesn’t seem to believe that changes to the coaching staff will turn this season around, even though fans have expressed their displeasure with head coach Mike McCarthy’s performance.

However, he expressed disappointment at the loss, calling it both “humiliating” and “worrying.”

McCarthy is in his fifth season as coach of the Cowboys. After six games, Dallas was off to a 3-3 start, its worst start since 2020, McCarthy’s first year as coach. Despite their recent struggles, Jones indicated he wasn’t thinking about changing things on the coaching staff, apparently saying the jobs of McCarthy as well as offensive coordinator Brian Schottenheimer and defensive coordinator Mike Zimmer, both in their first year in their respective roles , would be safe.

With a bye week looming, Dallas’ coaching staff will be working hard to make any adjustments necessary to get this team back in the win column, and it appears Jones hasn’t lost patience with his coaches yet.
