Back to business: The Steelers turned things around on Sunday against the Las Vegas Raiders, picking up a 32-13 win after losing two straight games.

And while the game was being played, there was a home game atmosphere as Steelers fans showed up in large numbers and had an impact on the game.

“The first thing that needs to be said is that I’m really surprised at the support we’ve had here from our fans, Steelers Nation,” Tomlin said. “They keep popping up and I just thought it was great. The environment for a venue was special. It was special to be a part of it.”

The Raiders came out of the gate strong and scored on their first drive, marching the ball down the field in a 10-play, 70-yard drive that ended with a three-yard touchdown run by Alexander Mattison.

The defense tightened up after the opening drive and forced three turnovers, including two forced fumbles by linebacker TJ Watt and an interception by Donte Jackson.

“I can’t say enough about TJ that hasn’t already been said in terms of his ability to impact the game in a variety of ways,” Tomlin said. “It’s something special. We are not surprised by this. But it’s still special.”

“I don’t know how to put it other than it doesn’t surprise me, but it doesn’t make it any less amazing. If you’ve been around him here throughout his career, I know he’s going to take advantage of these moments and in some way be what we need him to be in his career.”

Running back Najee Harris had 14 carries for 106 yards on the ground, including a 36-yard touchdown run, the longest offensive play of the day for the Steelers. It was Harris’ first 100-yard game of the season.

“I felt like we had to get another win. We lost two in a row. It was the perfect time for another win. We are 4-2 and playing against our next opponent. That’s really just my attitude.”

A total of 183 yards were gained in the ground game, which Tomlin said was a group effort.

“I just thought it was a collective effort, not just the bigs, but the perimeter guys and obviously Najee and everyone else,” Tomlin said. “It’s a collective. When I look at it, I just think of the collective energy and effort it takes.”

The victory improved the Steelers’ record to 4-2, with their next game on Sunday night against the New York Jets.

“I’m really grateful that we’re back on track, running our business and winning because that’s what this business is all about,” Tomlin said.

“Winning is our business. Football is our game. Winning is our business. We hadn’t taken care of business. And so it was just good to take care of business again. This is a normal situation for us. “That’s necessary.”

As for injuries, center Zach Frazier left the game with an ankle injury and did not return.

“It’s being evaluated,” Tomlin said. “There were a few other players who dropped out of the game but were able to return. Minkah (Fitzpatrick) was able to come back with his shoulder. Donte Jackson was able to return with his shoulder, just to name a few.”

“We will continue to evaluate these things. I’ll update you on some medical things next time we get together.”
