    The New York Giants and Cincinnati Bengals, two of the NFL’s most enigmatic teams, meet on Sunday Night Football.

    The high-powered Bengals have struggled to get wins this season. Despite scoring 25 points or more in 4 of 5 games, the Bengals only managed one win in Week 5. They suffered a terrible overtime loss to the Ravens that left Joe Burrow with a salty taste in his mouth when he talked about the team’s performance.

    On the other hand, the Giants traveled to Seattle and left with a big win in Week 5. Daniel Jones had his best game of the 2024 season, throwing two touchdowns in the win. What’s even more impressive is that Jones was not in the game with Malik Nabers, who missed the game with a concussion.

    Now two teams seemingly trending in opposite directions meet in a crucial “SNF” duel.

    Defensive tackle BJ Hill applied quick pressure to Jones on New York’s first play in the red zone. The quarterback failed to make a throw before Hill interfered with the pass, causing a jump ball to float in the air over the heads of several Bengals defenders. In the end, it was Pratt who pulled it off.

    Pratt’s pick immediately ends the Giants’ red zone threat and Cincinnati now takes over at their own 27-yard line.

    With the Bengals backed inside their own 15-yard line on third down, Ojulari quickly got off the line and wrapped up Burrow inside the Cincinnati 5. However, the outside linebacker did not complete the tackle to secure the sack. This allowed the Bengals quarterback to roll out and throw the ball away.

    NBC color commentator Cris Collinsworth speculated that Ojulari was afraid of getting a penalty on the play, which would explain why he inexplicably let go of the quarterback in the middle of a tackle.

    A few plays into the Bengals’ first drive of the night, their gunslinger found an outside lane on the right side and broke loose for a 47-yard rushing touchdown on third-and-18. It opened the night’s scoring by giving Cincinnati an early 7-0 lead.

    The “Sunday Night Football” matchup between the Giants and Bengals begins at 8:20 p.m. ET. The Bengals travel to MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford, New Jersey to take on the Giants.

    The game will air on NBC and Peacock. The game can also be streamed on Fubo.

    Mike Tirico (play-by-play) and Cris Collinsworth (analyst) will join the call, while Melissa Stark adds real-world reporting for NBC.

    It will be a cool, cloudy night in East Rutherford, New Jersey, with a high of 68 degrees and a low of 66 degrees during the game. According to the Weather Channel, wind speeds will reach a maximum of 5 miles per hour and the chance of precipitation will be a consistent 15% throughout the game.

    The Giants will be without their starting rookie in Week 6 against the Bengals. Nabers was ruled out because he is still dealing with concussion symptoms after suffering one in Week 4. This will be the second game in a row he will miss.

    New York has placed pass rusher Kayvon Thibodeaux on injured reserve while he recovers from wrist surgery. Thibodeaux, drafted in 2021, has two sacks in the 2024 season.

    The No. 1 team on NBC’s “Sunday Night Football” will remain intact, at least for the foreseeable future.

    According to a report from The Athletic, NBC Sports is close to securing a new four-year contract extension with top analyst Cris Collinsworth. The extension means he will remain with the network until the 2029/30 season. His current contract runs until the 2026 season.

    NBC is scheduled to broadcast two more Super Bowls in the next six years, including Super Bowl 60 in 2026 and Super Bowl 64 in 2030.

    Collinsworth, 65, has won seven Emmy Awards for outstanding sports studio analyst. He makes about $12.5 million per year and has teamed up with Mike Tirico to call plays.
