GREEN BAY – After a run of warm weather through the first two home games of the regular season, temperatures will drop and rain is in the forecast as the Green Bay Packers host the Arizona Cardinals at noon Sunday at Lambeau Field.

What is the weather forecast for Sunday in Green Bay?

UPDATE: The National Weather Service says there will be a 90% change in showers Sunday, with rain beginning to fall after 7 a.m

EARLIER STORY: While it is unclear when rain will begin, fans can expect precipitation either before kickoff or at kickoff, but it will be present, according to the National Weather Service Green Bay.

However, there will not be complete extinction. “The system is not particularly strong in that sense and is not carrying a lot of precipitation and moisture,” meteorologist Rebecca Kruk told the Press-Gazette. “But it will feel significant considering we haven’t had much in the last two weeks. So there will be at least some useful rain.”

True fall weather is expected, with temperatures in the mid to upper 40s just hours before kickoff. By midday, temperatures are expected to be in the low 50s and stay there. Winds will be 10 to 15 mph from the north, with some gusts reaching 20 mph.

Here’s how to prepare for the weather during Sunday’s Packers-Cardinals game

Kruk recommended fans dress in layers for the cold and also considered bringing a poncho for the rain. “It’s not going to be a drenching rain, but if you’re standing outside for a long period of time it’s definitely possible,” she said.

Fans can also visit air-conditioned areas in the stadium to cool down. This includes:

  • The atrium in the lower hall.
  • The Miller Lite End Zone Bar in the lower hall.
  • The US Cellular Loft in the upper hall.
