Tom Brady’s $375 million contract cost Greg Olsen his job, and now the fan favorite is part of the Fox Sports channel’s restructuring

Greg Olsen has been let go from Fox Sports’ top broadcast team to make room for Tom Brady.

The legendary quarterback signed a 10-year, $375 million contract in the offseason and was always destined to join No. 1 play-by-play broadcaster Kevin Burkhardt.

However, many fans felt that Olsen, who has won an Emmy for his work since joining the network in 2021, was hit hard.

Their case was strengthened when Brady struggled to find the right tone earlier this season, although he appears to be on the right track.

Olsen was paired with Joe Davis on the No. 2 team, but was involved in another reshuffle in Week 5.

Davis is Fox’s play-by-play broadcaster for the MLB playoffs and anchors the New York Mets vs. Philadelphia Phillies series.

Versatile announcer Jason Benetti joined Olsen in the booth during the Cleveland Browns’ loss to the Washington Commanders on Sunday.

The duo had good chemistry and fans believe they should be promoted ahead of Brady and Burkhardt.

“Why aren’t @jasonbenetti and @gregolsen88 the main stand? What a duo,” said one fan.

“Jason Benetti and Greg Olsen seem to have been playing NFL games together for 10 years. Impressive chemistry for a temporary team,” another added.

“Jason Benetti-Greg Olsen performed as A-Team as a non-A-Team duo can,” said a third.

Benetti covers a wide range of sports for Fox, including baseball, basketball and college football.

“We need Benetti at more NFL games,” begged another viewer.

“Although it kind of sucks that Olsen got ‘demoted,’ he’s working with the same great announcers this year,” a fifth suggested.

In a memorable exchange, Benetti showed he is comfortable with his new partner.

“Do you want to do that?” Benetti said as the commanders moved up to fourth and second.

“It’s me. I am naturally aggressive. “Jason, I know we haven’t worked together much,” Olsen replied.

“I can say that. It’s on the TV,” Benetti joked.

Another outstanding feature was a striking height difference.

Olsen is 1.90 meters tall, while Benetti is 1.75 meters tall.

Luckily, opposites attract.

While fans enjoyed the new couple, Fox didn’t spend more than $37 million a year on Brady to use him as a replacement.

Meanwhile, Olsen’s annual salary was reportedly cut from $10 million to $3 million.
