Jayden Reed may want to keep his Friday nights free during the high school football season.

Earlier in the day, the Green Bay Packers wide receiver called out on his social media for a high school football game he could attend that evening. At the beginning of the fall he had a similar wish.

On Friday, he was debating whether he wanted to travel to Kimberly for the big showdown between the Papermakers and their rival Kaukauna in the Fox Valley Association or stay local and visit Bay Port to watch the Pirates’ monster matchup in the Fox River Classic Conference West De Pere to contest. North. It was all about first place in both leagues.

His post received almost 300 replies. In the end, Reed’s decision to stay in Green Bay for the West De Pere-Bay Port game proved to be the right decision.

West De Pere’s 45-43 victory over Bay Port, which ended with a 49-yard field goal by Brandon Schaefer as time expired, was a classic. Bay Port’s 23 conference game winning streak ended with an incredible kick.

The field goal completed a spectacular comeback for West De Pere, which took a 35-21 lead into the fourth quarter and trailed again, 43-42, after Bay Port regained the lead on a touchdown and two-point conversion with just 26 seconds to play .

With West De Pere’s win, the Phantoms remained perfect in the conference standings and were sole owners of first place with a week to go.

Week 8: Wisconsin high school football scores in the Green Bay and Appleton area

Reed didn’t come alone.

He was joined by three of his fellow wide receivers: Christian Watson, Bo Melton and practice squad member Julian Hicks.

“I love supporting and coming to high school games,” Melton said in a video posted to the Packers’ Twitter account Friday night.

Not only were fans treated to a fantastic high school football game – perhaps the game of the year in Wisconsin – but they also had the opportunity to interact with members of the Packers in a fun environment.

And it looks like the Packers players had just as much fun as the students and fans in the stands.

At one point, Watson and Hicks got the crowd going by waving giant Bay Port flags. Melton did push-ups on a wooden plank that Watson and his students held up while everyone nearby counted. Imagine Bucky Badger after a Wisconsin touchdown at Camp Randall Stadium. That was Melton.

The Packers’ four wide receivers also high-fived players on the field, tossed footballs around with kids on the sidelines and signed autographs.

It was an unforgettable night in Green Bay.

Reed and the Packers will take the field Sunday at Lambeau Field for a Week 6 game against the Arizona Cardinals.
