Following the game: Vanderbilt head coach Clark Leah praised his quarterback, shared the latest on his status and praised him for overcoming the injury scare.

“Without amputation, I think the guy is playing,” Clark Lea said. “He’s tough. I’m not sure of the specific (injury). He injured his knee. They just wanted to look at it. He was fine. He’s going crazy. This is a difficult route. So it’s fun to have him on our team. He fights every night. He has the chip on his shoulder that defines our program and he will be fine.”

Pavia limped off the field under his own power after the injury. Still, he was obviously able to play well despite the pain he was dealing with.

Diego Pavia completed 15 of 18 passes for 143 yards and two touchdowns. He also threw an interception. Additionally, Pavia ran for 53 yards, with his agility being an integral part of his game throughout his college career. Despite the injury, Pavia was able to lead the Commodores to a 20-13 victory over Kentucky.
