    Popular comedian and radio host Wanda Smith has died aged 58

    Comedian and radio host Wanda Smith has died. She was 58 years old. A cause of death is not yet known.

    Smith, a Miami native, was best known in Atlanta as a host Frank and Wanda in the morningon V-103 (WVEE-FM). Smith hosted the morning show from 1998 to 2012. She spent four years with Ryan Cameron from 2014 to early 2018. Smith returned to Frank Ski for another stint at V-103.

    Smith also received writing credits for Def Comedy Jam. She also made appearances in the films Madea goes to prison, Madea’s Witness ProtectionAnd The drone that saved Christmas.

    Condolences poured in from across the entertainment industry. Actress and comedian Loni Love shared her heart on social media:

    “I am saddened to hear of the passing of comedian and radio host Wanda Smith. She was a fixture in the Atlanta area and we did comedy together. She was the ultimate entertainer. Rest now, sister. Condolences to the Smith family.

    Although best known for the Katt Williams radio incident, Wanda was one of the first Comicview comedians to hit the Atlanta scene. She did other comics and loved being an entertainer. Rest in peace.”

    Smith is a pillar in the Atlanta community. May her legacy be a blessing.
