Jeremiah Smith continues his incredible TD streak with a 2nd half score against Oregon

Jeremiah Smith is living up to the elite expectations he faced at Ohio State and he has started his college career by scoring in every game he has seen the field.

On Saturday, Smith and the Buckeyes face Oregon in a game of massive proportions in Eugene. After a quiet first half from Smith, he broke out early in the second half.

On the first drive of the second half, he scored a big 38-yard gain and appeared in the red zone again. After a 2nd-and-goal, Will Howard escaped the pocket and could see Smith running for a touchdown near the sideline.

While the touchdown goes to Smith, it was Howard’s fight that helped open the game and find Smith.

Smith’s grip gave him a receiving touchdown in each of his first six games in Columbus. He now has 7 receiving touchdowns, 8 total touchdowns and is heading into his third game with multiple touchdowns.

It took just six games for Smith to tie David Boston (1996) for second-most touchdowns by a true freshman in Buckeye history. Cris Carter still holds the all-time freshman record with 8 from his 1984 season, but it’s only a matter of time before Smith takes that spot alone.
