It’s a game that attracted ESPN’s “College GameDay” earlier in the morning and brought a list of notable celebrities to Eugene, Oregon and Autzen Stadium for the nightcap heavyweight showdown – a list that includes Seattle Seahawk quarterback Geno Smith belongs.

The 6-foot-3 Seahawks quarterback was spotted on the field at Autzen Stadium as the Buckeyes met with his cousin, Ohio State wide receiver Jeremiah Smith, during warmups.

Why is Geno Smith at Ohio State-Oregon?

With the Seahawks facing a bye in the NFL this week, Geno Smith flew relatively quickly from Seattle to Eugene, Oregon to watch his cousin Jeremiah Smith and the Buckeyes play against Oregon.

Geno Smith isn’t the only member of the Seahawks at Autzen Stadium on Saturday, as fellow wide receiver and former Ohio State star Jaxon Smith-Njigba will also be in attendance. Smith-Njigba, who finished with 1,541 receiving yards and eight touchdowns during his three years at Ohio State, was selected No. 20 overall by the Seahawks in the 2023 NFL Draft.
