When will the Stanford game resume?

No. 11 Notre Dame football’s home game against Stanford on Saturday was interrupted due to a lightning strike in the area. The Fighting Irish lead the Cardinal 42-7 at the end of the third quarter. The game resumes at 7:12 p.m. ET. Television coverage will air on CNBC.

As noted by ESPNPer NCAA guidelines, a 30-minute delay is required when a flash delay occurs within eight miles of a stadium. If there is another lightning strike during this period, the clock restarts.

Around 6:10 p.m. ET, the 77,622 fans in attendance had to leave Notre Dame Stadium due to a lightning strike. The field was also cleared and the teams retreated to the locker room.

Stanford returned to the field at 7 p.m. Notre Dame followed shortly thereafter.

Before the lighting delay, the Irish doused the Cardinal. Through three quarters, they outscored Stanford 362-177 on offense. Irish quarterback Riley Leonard They accounted for 260 of those yards, with a season-high 229 passing yards and another 31 on the ground.

Leonard has 3 passing touchdowns and a rushing score.

Notre Dame’s defense was equally impressive, limiting Stanford to 3.5 yards per play and forcing a turnover. Junior defender Joshua Burnham had a forced fumble after taking the ball away with a speed option and returning it 15 yards.

Two plays later, the junior running back Jadarian Prize scored a 16-yard touchdown. Sophomore running back Jeremiyah love also had a rushing score of 39 yards in the third quarter.

Senior wide receiver Jayden ThomasPhD student Kris Mitchell and junior tight end Eli Raridon were the recipients of Leonard’s passing touchdowns.

Wide receiver for graduate students Beau Collins Leads the team in receiving with 4 catches for 85 yards.

On defense, second-year linebacker Drayk Bowen has a team-high 7 tackles. Graduate defensive tackle Howard Cross III was the most effective, recording 2 sacks in his 4 stops.
