4Weather warning – After cloud cover and a few showers at the end of the week, our cold front has moved through the region and that will bring some sunshine but also colder temperatures to start the weekend. Expect temperatures to only rise into the upper 60s Saturday afternoon as the next chance for showers arrives in the evening hours Saturday.

We will watch another frontal boundary move on Sunday to end the weekend and begin Monday next week. On Sunday, showers may occur intermittently throughout the day, and even as the region cools down, temperatures will rise. By Sunday afternoon temperatures will rise to over 50 degrees.

We expect showers to occur in the forecast next week on Monday, but we will also include some sunshine in the forecast. Temperatures will get cooler again, with highs moving to the mid 50s by Monday afternoon, which will be about 10° below average starting next week.

High pressure will build in the region from the middle of next week. We’ll keep filtered sunshine in the forecast for Tuesday before plenty of sunshine on Wednesday through to the end of next week on Friday. High temperatures, still in the 50s on Tuesday and Wednesday, will warm to the 60s on Thursday and into the 60s on Friday through the end of next week.

As the cooler changes move into the region, we could see our first frost and/or freeze in the region by the middle of next week. Overnight low temperatures will fall into the mid-30s in the Detroit metropolitan area Monday evening and Tuesday evening. Outside the metro area there could be some low 30s. So keep an eye on the forecasts as frost and/or frost may occur until the middle of next week.
