Barcelona’s breakthrough midfield star will wear the national team’s colors after almost five years

Marc Casado (21) has become one of Barcelona’s most influential players this season and has played a key role in their brilliant start so far.

The La Masia The graduate took advantage of the absences in midfield Blaugrana squad and has developed into one of the outstanding performers in Hansi Flick’s system.

Casado’s first-team performances have not gone unnoticed and the academy graduate is now ready to play for the Spanish youth national team again after almost five years, it is claimed Mundo Sports.

In fact, Santi Denia has nominated Casado alongside Pablo Torre for the U21 European Championship qualifiers. The Spanish U21 national team will face Kazakhstan in Cadiz and Malta in Algeciras.

To find Casado’s final call-up to Spain’s youth categories, we have to go back to February 2020. During this time he took part in the Algarve international under-17 tournament, playing in all games against Germany, South Korea and Portugal.

However, his only start was against the Asian nation, a game that also featured Alejandro Balde in the starting lineup.

Casado almost made the jump from the U17 to the senior national team. Luis de la Fuente included him in the provisional list for the Nations League group stage this month, but ultimately opted for another choice.

This will see Casado make his U21 debut after not wearing the colors of the Spanish national team for more than four years.
