Frost scores the winning goal for the Flyers in their season opener against the Canucks

Frost slowly ran in from the left side before firing a wrist shot from close range up and over the glove of Kevin Lankinen.

Cam York and Tyson Foerster scored in regulation and Samuel Ersson made 24 saves for the Flyers (1-0-0), who were playing their first game of the season.

Teddy Blueger and Nils Hoglander scored and Lankinen made 29 saves (0-0-2) in his first start with the Canucks. Vancouver has lost its first two games of the season in regulation time, losing its opener to the Calgary Flames 6-5 in overtime on Wednesday.

Blueger gave Vancouver a 2-1 lead at 11:25 of the second period by passing back up the right boards to defenseman Derek Forbort at the left point and then going to the net to catch a back pass from Forbort through the back door to a layup To redirect past Ersson.

York tied the score at 2:48 of the third period with a quick wrist shot that went over Lankinen’s glove and past the post from the left faceoff dot, following a cross-ice pass from Ryan Poehling under the net to make it 2-2 from the goal line .

The Canucks played with five defensemen for most of the game after Tyler Myers injured his right guard in a hit on Farabee 1:46 into the game. Myers, 34, did not put any weight on his right leg as he was helped off the ice.
