Nigeria vs Libya Afcon Qualifier: No goal for Uyo at Godswill Akpabio Stadium

Nigeria will face Libya in the Afcon 2025 qualifier at the Godswill Akpabio Stadium for Uyo.

The Super Eagles top Group D and face Rwanda, Libya and Benin.

Only the top two teams for the 11 groups, excluding tournament host Morocco, qualify for the competition.

Dis qualifiers are tough, especially against teams like reigning champions Ivory Coast and African giants Egypt, Nigeria and Senegal, Algeria.

24 teams will compete for the 35th edition of the Di Ogbonge football competition, which will take place between December 21st and January 18th, 2025.

First half

35 minutes – Corner kick but Libya saves the danger

34 minutes – Chance for Nigeria! Simon’s cross hit the Libyan defender and almost found the net. Well, corner kick

32nd minute: Lookman tries to control the ball in the Libya penalty area, but he doesn’t succeed

31 mins – Long ball from Aina but the goalkeeper could see how to move and catch the ball

30 minutes – Goal kick for Libya

28 minutes – Lookman plays the corner for Nigeria, the goalkeeper saves the first ball but it falls to Ekong’s leg. The Nigerian captain shot, but it went into the goal

18 minutes – Lookman and Iwobi combine well inside the Libya penalty area but there is no opportunity for them as the defense clears the ball

16th minute – Onyeka’s cross doesn’t reach his teammates and goes for a goal kick

14 minutes – Aina tries to attack from the right but the Libyan defender gives me no space to cross the ball, no goal kick,

12 minutes – Nigeria again attacks Libya from the left but the goalkeeper gets past the ball

10 minutes – Chance for Nigeria Alex Iwobi shot but the Libyan goalkeeper parried the ball

9 minutes – Bassey’s pass doesn’t reach his teammate, Libya clears the ball

8 minutes – Libya is awarded a free kick inside the penalty area following a foul by a Nigerian attacker on a defender

5 minutes – Libya’s defense blocks Ekong’s header from a free kick cross

4 minutes – Free kick for Nigeria after a Libyan player brings down Moses Simon

2 minutes – Free kick for Libya, Dia goalkeeper plays long ball forward

1 minute – Nigeria controls the game with good first touches of the ball in the Libyan half
