Reggae Boyz senior defender Damion Lowe says the team is well prepared and ready to take three points from their Concacaf Nations League, League A, Group B game against Nicaragua at the Nicaragua National Football Stadium today at 9 p.m

Lowe said head coach Steve McClaren prepared them well for the matchup and it was their job to go out and do the job.

“I think we are well prepared,” he said at the pre-match press conference yesterday. “The gaffer has written the plan on the board and all we have to do is follow the instructions.”

“The boys are excited. You are focused and ready for the task ahead. We are prepared and want to get three points.”

One of the challenges the team will have to face is the artificial turf on which the game will be played.

However, Lowe does not believe this will be a major problem as most of the players in the squad are familiar with this type of surface.

“Most of our players play in Europe. When you play in the Champions League or Europa League, there are teams that play on (artificial) turf. So you’re familiar with it.”

“Me, Andre (Blake), Jahmali (Waite) and a few others play on artificial turf week in week out, so it’s nothing new.”

“The surface will have an impact on the game, but with the good players we have and how focused we are going into this game, we will have no excuses.”

“We will play like a cup game. It will be very difficult, so we must concentrate on the task at hand and not worry about the obstacles that lie ahead,” he explained.

The two teams are now level at the top of the group with four points each and coach Steve McClaren, impressed by the Nicaraguans, said the game would be a big test.
