Match updates, preseason live score

The Memphis Grizzlies’ preseason preparation continues on Thursday. This time, Memphis will host its preseason home opener against the Charlotte Hornets.

Memphis opened its preseason on Monday with a 121-116 win over the Dallas Mavericks. This was the first look at the Grizzlies’ new offense and two members of the draft class.

Fewer turnovers and more consistent ball movement are some of the improvements Grizzlies coach Taylor Jenkins hopes to see on Thursday.

Grizzlies rookie center Zach Edey finished Monday with six points, seven rebounds, one block and one steal. He struggled with five fouls in 18 minutes.

Star point guard Ja Morant, who injured his ankle in the preseason opener, is unlikely to play as Memphis continues to cautiously treat his injury ahead of the preseason. Marcus Smart and Scotty Pippen Jr. are among the players who will get more opportunities at lead guard. Exhibit 10 newcomer Yuki Kawamura is also another option at point guard.
