Florida boy rescued after being discovered in the water

A teenager who was floating on a section of fence in an area flooded by Hurricane Milton was rescued Thursday.

Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office deputies were patrolling a boat when they encountered the 14-year-old.

Footage released by the sheriff’s office shows the boy alone in the water in Tampa as the boat docked with deputies.

“We’re coming to you. Be careful,” one MP can be heard saying.

The teenager is seen boarding the ship to safety. He suffered no injuries, the sheriff’s office told Fox News Digital.

A spokesman declined to provide further details, including the whereabouts of the boy’s parents.

Milton raced through Florida and reached the Atlantic on Thursday. The storm left 3 million people without power and several people dead.

Milton came two weeks after Hurricane Helene devastated parts of the southeastern United States. Additionally, Milton produced a series of tornadoes that caused extensive damage.
