Cool mornings and pleasant afternoons all week long

  • Sunny, cool week
  • No significant precipitation in the forecast
  • Warming up for the holiday weekend

There is cooling and lower humidity. This will bring clear blue skies and no chance of rain, according to the 7 day forecast.

Lows generally fall into the 40s each morning; However, temperatures around 30°C are possible west of the Blue Ridge, especially on Friday morning. This is the best chance for any frost formation, even if it only occurs very locally.

Daily highs will warm to 60° and lows will warm to 70° each day through the end of the week. Thursday and Friday may be the coolest days (and mornings).

Fall update(WDBJ7 Weather)

Fall colors are emerging earlier than normal at higher elevations and nearing their peak on the highest peaks in Pocahontas Co., WV.

Elsewhere, trees are showing gradual changes. The dogwoods have turned their famous pink color and will soon take on a deeper hue. Black eucalyptus, sumac, poison ivy and Virginia creeper clearly show bright reds on the streets.

Peak colors are expected a week earlier than normal, but still likely in the last two weeks of October.
