Sources have long insisted that Kate Middleton wanted to play the role of peacemaker between feuding Princes William and Prince Harry. But after her battle with cancer, the Princess of Wales seems to have other priorities.

Christopher Andersen, author of “The King,” told Fox News Digital that the Duke and Duchess of Sussex are not currently on Kate’s radar. Instead, the 42-year-old is concentrating exclusively on preserving the future of the monarchy together with William and her father-in-law, King Charles III.

“The idea that Kate somehow still has the time and energy to continue playing peacemaker is nonsense,” Andersen claimed. “She tried for years and finally threw up her hands in disgust. She made her contribution, but it wasn’t enough to build a bridge between William and Charles on the one hand and Harry on the other.”

A spokesman for Kensington Palace did not immediately respond to Fox News Digital’s request for comment.

Royal expert Richard Fitzwilliams claimed to Fox News Digital that Kate “completely agrees” with 42-year-old William on how to handle the royal dispute, and for good reason.

“Harry portrayed her as cold and dismissive of (his wife) Meghan Markle in (his memoir) ‘Spare,’ as he painted an extremely damaging picture of the royal family,” Fitzwilliams explained. “The memoir will soon be published in paperback and his allegations will resurface, although fortunately he will not be expanding the volume or promoting it. He knows exactly how damaging it was.”

Fitzwilliams noted that Kate will focus on slowly returning to her royal duties while prioritizing her health.

“We have recently seen encouraging signs of Catherine’s recovery,” he said. “Her focus, as she said, is on being ‘cancer-free.'” The Wales family has had an extremely difficult year. She has completed her preventive chemotherapy while also fulfilling some royal obligations. (But) Catherine will want to avoid anything that promotes negative energy.

Harry has had a strained relationship with his family since he and Meghan stepped down from royal duties in 2020. At the time, the couple said the unbearable intrusions and racist attitudes of the British press had led them to step down as senior royals.

Since then, the father of two has spoken extensively about his difficult relationship with his family in television interviews, a documentary and his memoirs.

In his book, Harry claimed that William called his wife “difficult” and “rude” during an argument in 2019 and then grabbed him by the collar and knocked him down. Harry suffered cuts and bruises when he landed on a dog bowl. Harry claimed that Charles begged the brothers to reconcile. After the funeral of Charles’ father, Prince Philip, in 2021, the king pleaded: “Please, boys, don’t make my final years miserable.”

British broadcaster and photographer Helena Chard claimed to Fox News Digital that Kate was known for her “strong sense of negotiation.” However, she “currently does not prioritize contacting Prince Harry.”

“It is her priority to make sure her family is well and happy,” Chard claimed. “She is also aware that she needs to be kind to herself. Having completed her preventive chemotherapy treatment, she is relieved to take on royal duties if possible, but realizes she is not quite out of the woods yet.”

“Prince Harry will want to contact Princess Catherine,” Chard claimed. “Prince Harry will disrupt the silent treatment – and the royal family is aware of it.”

Sources previously told People magazine that Harry’s calls and letters to his father went unanswered. His attempts to contact William via texts, calls and messages were “also ignored”.

“Catherine has been an advocate for peace over the last year,” Kinsey Schofield, host of the “To Di For Daily” podcast, claimed to Fox News Digital. “(But) Harry and Meghan are not currently on the Prince and Princess of Wales’ radar. Catherine is focused on her health and her family. Harry and Meghan’s relentless exploits are irrelevant to them at this point.”

“Even if Catherine is currently safe… the reality is that cancer has taken a toll on King Charles,” Schofield claimed, referring to the 75-year-old monarch who is battling the disease.

William is the heir to the British throne.

“Prince William and Catherine must prepare for a complete departure from the privacy and intimacy of their previous lives until William (eventually) ascends to the throne,” Schofield said. “They’re planning on things like figuring out how to manage raising teenagers under that spotlight. How much access the world will have. How they can protect their children.”

“The bigger picture no longer includes Harry and they are focused on keeping Catherine cancer-free, the future of her family and the future of the Crown,” Schofield continued. “Harry probably misses Catherine because he’s a perpetual victim, but you made your bed, now you’re lying in it. I hope the payday he got from ‘Spare’ was worth losing a sister-in-law who loved him as her own.” His little brother complained about Catherine’s lack of enthusiasm about sharing lip gloss with his strange wife or publish private text messages from a future queen?”

“Harry must accept the consequences of his actions,” Schofield added.

But not everyone agrees that Kate has tried to make peace following the royal exit of the Duke and Duchess of Sussex.

“It’s an interesting scenario that Kate is a peacemaker between William and Harry,” royal expert Ian Pelham Turner told Fox News Digital. “I haven’t heard of this and I’m wondering if it’s coming from a PR source promoting Kate.”

“Kate is going against William and his feelings are outrageous,” he claimed. “But as in all royal sagas, the truth is…stranger than fiction. I feel like it’s Meghan who needs to feel safe returning to a turbulent environment. Harry will never betray her.”

Kate announced on September 9 that she had completed treatment six months after discovering she had an unknown type of cancer. Her announcement came six weeks after Buckingham Palace revealed the royal was being treated for cancer.

In a video announcing her progress, she said the road to full recovery would be long and she would take it day by day. She said she will take on some limited engagements through the end of the year.
