Social media goes crazy as Wemby and CP3 give Spurs fans what they’ve been waiting for

The moment you’ve all been waiting for has arrived and it was just as amazing as you imagined. The Spurs threw a small wrench into the plans of fans who were ready to celebrate Chris Paul’s first lob against Victor Wembanyama when they lined them up for their preseason opener against the Oklahoma City Thunder.

The story was different in the second game when the Orlando Magic visited the Frost Bank Center. The dynamic duo entered the field together and the only question was how long it would take for the lob to come.

They ran a few pick-and-roll moves early on, but a strong Orlando team paid close attention to Wemby when throwing. It was clear they were trying to stop the magic from happening for San Antonio, but they couldn’t stop it forever. With less than a minute left in the quarter, the Point God ran another pick-and-roll from the wing and the Alien escaped.

The praise actually happened. The eyes of Spurs fans around the world shot up in unison as they threw their hands into the sky to celebrate this monumental occasion. Chris Paul was a master on the floor; This is what you expect. He was confident and kept control of the offense.

There were a few problems, which resulted in two turnovers, but the whole team is working on them. CP3’s presence will help keep that down as he gets to know the team and the team learns from him and Harrison Barnes. In the meantime, there will be plenty of highlight pieces to look forward to.

We are all grateful for that. You can add a thank you for a team that looks like it can win games right from the start. Things will undoubtedly look even better when Devin Vassell returns, but Champagnie and Mamu’s three-point shooting have improved significantly as long as what they’ve shown through two games is the new norm and not a blip early in the season.

Stephon Castle looked every bit the player he was supposed to be and more. He took control of the game after Victor and Chris Paul sat out overnight. Blake Wesley filled out the stat sheet in the assist column. The players advance left and right. It’s going to be a fun season, so buckle up.
