Watch Jaukeem Fortson’s Blind Audition on Season 26 of The Voice

At the tender age of just 13, soulful singer Jaukeem Fortson may not be like that yet quite old enough to play along to Snoop Dogg’s adult hip-hop classic “Gin and Juice.” “But,” he joked before enthusing The voice Coaches with a great blind audition cover of Adele’s “Easy on Me” – “I could do some things Apple Juice!”

As the youngest artist in season 26 of The voiceThe Elberton, Georgia native stunned all the coaches and secured an enviable 3-chair turn, while leaving Gwen Stefani – the lone holdout – with “great regret” when Stefani turned around and realized that Adele’s powerful sound came from such a young people, source of energy.

“My God, you blew me away today!” enthused coach Reba McEntire, who admitted she “had a feeling” Fortson “was going to be around for a while.” “He hit the notes, and he had the soul and the meaning behind it. I think we’ll have a lot of fun together!”

The Queen of Country could claim that “shared” bragging rights after winning Jaukeem’s favor as the coach to accompany him on his journey in Season 26. However, the others didn’t do their best to win Fortson’s favor. Michael Bublé confessed after pressing his big red button just seconds into Jaukeem’s blind audition: “I couldn’t spin fast enough!”

“You have a beautiful voice,” Bublé enthused. “You did thing that we wish for our artists. We all really want you on our team, but I have to say it – having you here is real our Gift.”

Fortson’s nimble vocal runs and the artist’s commanding presence left all the coaches in awe of how a child, barely a teenager, could produce such a powerful sound. “I want to express my gratitude to your parents for raising you right,” Snoop Dogg said. “It shows how to act like a pro and be in full control of the stage!”
