Tobey Maguire And Andrew Garfield could appear in the Untitled MCU Spider-Man 4 filmaccording to a new rumor. Maguire played the web-slinging superhero in three films directed by Sam Raimi, while Garfield portrayed another variation of the character in The Amazing Spider-Man (2012) and The Amazing Spider-Man 2 (2014). The two actors took on their respective roles in “Spider-Man: No Way Home” (2021), where they appeared on screen together Tom Hollandwho previously explored the role of Peter Parker/Spider-Man from the MCU in Spider-Man: Homecoming (2017) and Spider-Man: Far From Home (2019).

The fourth MCU Spider-Man could potentially bring Tobey Maguire, Andrew Garfield and Tom Holland together once again.

Alex Perez of The Cosmic Circus recently had a Q&A with members of the site’s Discord. There he said he had “heard” that due to the multiversal aspect of the setting, there was “a very high possibility” that the versions of Maguire and Garfield could appear in the film in an “expanded role.”

Raimi’s first Spider-Man film came out in 2002, followed by Spider-Man 2 in 2004 and Spider-Man 3 in 2007. There were plans for a fourth film, but they were ultimately canceled. After the success of Spider-Man: No Way Home, there was speculation about a fourth Spider-Man film starring Maguire. However, Raimi told Screen Rant that he has no plans to “do Spider-Man 4.” Likewise, plans for a third “Amazing Spider-Man” film with Garfield and spin-offs were ultimately scrapped.

In addition, there have apparently been discussions about a fourth Spider-Man film with Holland since 2019. In September 2024, it was reported that Destin Daniel Cretton, who previously directed MCU’s Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings, was in early talks to direct the film.

In the Q&A above, Perez also claimed that Holland’s version could receive the symbiote suit within “the next few years.” He could use it in the next Spider-Man films. Previously, Perez spoke about Tom Hardy’s Venom and Knull’s possible appearance in Spider-Man 4. This time, he claimed that we would see more symbiotes in the film.
