Donald Trump will speak at the Aurora rally on Friday

Former President Donald Trump will speak at a rally at the Gaylord Rockies Resort and Convention Center in Aurora on Friday afternoon, his presidential campaign announced late Monday.

The Republican presidential candidate spoke about Aurora’s recent problems with rundown apartment complexes and the Venezuelan gang Tren de Aragua during a campaign event in New York in September.

During a nationally televised debate with Vice President Kamala Harris, Trump again invoked Aurora and falsely claimed that violent immigrants were taking over the city.

Aurora city and police officials have acknowledged isolated gang activity but said claims that the city is being overrun by the Tren de Aragua are untrue.

Aurora police have publicly identified 10 gang members who have been charged in more than a dozen criminal incidents in recent months.

Trump’s running mate, Ohio Sen. JD Vance, will also be in Colorado this week and will attend a fundraising dinner in Denver on Tuesday.

Rally tickets are available online. Doors open at 10 a.m. and Trump is expected to begin his speech at 1 p.m
