By retaining his title against Sami Zayn on WWE RAW, Gunther seemingly punched his ticket to WWE Crown Jewel.

In the main event of the October 7 episode of WWE RAW, Gunther defeated Sami Zayn via submission to retain the WWE World Heavyweight Championship. This avenged his loss to Zayn at WWE WrestleMania 40.

After the bell, WWE Undisputed Champion Cody Rhodes interrupted Gunther’s celebration and glared at him. Rhodes and Gunther will compete at WWE Crown Jewel for the WWE Crown Jewel Championship.

An exploder from Zayn sends Gunther into the barricade. Helluva kick from Zayn. Zayn breaks the count as he can’t pull Gunther back into the ring. Zayn sends Gunther back into the ring and lands another Helluva Kick. With Gunther slumped in the corner, Zayn tries another Helluva Kick. Gunther counters with a lariat. After a series of reversals, Gunther hits a powerbomb! Zayn steps out. Gunther lands another powerbomb. Zayn kicks out after one! Günther is shocked. Gunther catches Zayn in another sleeper and secures the win.
